Haystac, a leader in content analytics software, today announced that one of the world’s largest information management services providers, has selected Haystac software as the classification and content analysis engine for its new comprehensive information governance service. Haystac was awarded a four-year, multi-million contract.
The company is one of the largest records and information management services provider worldwide. Its customers manage and activate their critical business information through offsite storage and information governance services, scanning and digital transformation solutions, document management software and secure destruction services.
The company creates and applies complex retention policies on behalf of its customers, who submit vast numbers of boxes containing their records. Last year the company received over 800 million pages and this number will continue to grow. The contents of every box are scanned and loaded onto a file server. At this point, no one knows the identity of each document, what information it contains, or what retention policies should be applied to it.
Haystac software analyzes the files, then performs document identification, separation and classification using its unique visual recognition methods. Document contents are also extracted to enable future searching or data mining. Haystac can also identify ROT (Redundant, Obsolete, Trivial) files for disposition. The results are passed into the company’s information governance solution and prepared for cloud-based access by the customer.
